J: WOW T- I’m lovin your photo. I’m sure you have an awesome story behind it and can’t wait to hear (slash read) all about it! So, I decided this blog I was going to look at textures and as I was making my bed I noticed how great my blue feather-down comforter looked up close. It was almost as if there were ‘waves’ throughout the material, and then it was interrupted by a round little device: the button. I admit I had to search around my apt for what I wanted to photograph but it was deep-cleaning day and between laundry, dusting, and vacuuming I was able to discover some fun things to snap some shots of. I’m glad I’m back to dipstyching- it’s been too long.
T: And the juggling starts as school has commenced for Jill and I. In between looking for part-time work and getting organized with coursework, I spent an afternoon wandering the SFMOMA on free-first Tuesdays of the Month. (Although it is free for Academy of Art students anyway.) Everyone should take advantage of free museum days! Right now there is an awesome exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art and it goes through a history of 75 years of art in San Francisco. It is really something to see, as all of the different mediums of art are intermingled with each other in a progressive layout through the years. Art is undeniably subjective and debatable. But what is great about this exhibit is that one form of art influences another and it is shown throughout the exhibit. As artists we are always striving to be original, to see the world and express it in a whole new way. I know that I am influenced by all the creative output I see everyday and being completely original is next to impossible. The best I can hope for is to create something meaningful, to someone, somewhere.
